What do we hold? Just fingers bold! (2024)
A workshop focused on hand play, where children will move from hand games, to finger puppets, to puppetry.
Dear viewers, please note that this workshop is in Slovak language only.
Why do we have fingers? To hold a pencil, to point, to pick our noses? Certainly for many other things. But can you imagine that fingers can also be trees, animals, people, that they can tell stories? A workshop focusing on play with hands in which children will move from hand games, to finger puppets, to puppetry.
Through exercises, children will try out how theatre can be performed using their hands. They will learn to use their hands to express feelings, moods, atmosphere, characters or settings. Later, they will add an object that, in conjunction with the hand, creates a puppet. Finally, they will test the skills they have acquired through the exercises by creating a short theatre sketch together.
This workshop develops gesture work, perception and the creation of visual metaphors, as well as creativity as such, independent work and working as a team.
Suitable for children aged 6 and up. Parents please respect the recommended age limit.
The workshop is led by actress Margaréta Nosáľová.
